I know some people don't want emails on this topic to continue, but please excuse me for this one email. I request people to not generalise things based on what one or two people say. We (all Indians here as well as back home) are as much shocked and sad about whatever happened yesterday as any American. And I also know that many people from America who work for charitable organizations and Churches do indeed go places to help people in the hour of need and so do we. India has been fighting against terrorism for years now and will continue to do so. My condolences to the family and friends of anyone affected by these attacks. I don't intend to argue with anyone on this topic and I wouldn't have written this email too but I just don't want people to think against us Indians because we have always been peace-loving people. When people died in Kashmir do u >feel regret. It is the slap on the american and the intelligence failure. >But I must not go beyond this....... Actually.. yes, when people die in Kashmir, I *do* feel regret. I, like many other Americans, spend my resources trying to help the Red Cross and other worldwide charitable organizations in order to help the needy. What's more, a "slap on the american and the intelligence failure" -- which is really difficult to parse, I should add - is difficult to defend for ANY civilized person. War on the civilian population is a casus belli. If you ask me, I think it's time to show solidarity - if you're not for us in this, you're against us. In my opinion, it's time for the US to live up to what these people accuse us of. >As a true Indian my condolences are with all the american family and >friends.
