Some app servers do an automatic import of the java.util package thus
allowing the use of Vectors with out being imported. AFAIK there is no conf
file to configure this since it happens at the compiler level. It looks like
you'll have to add <%@ page import="java.util.*"%> to all your jsp pages

I always precompile my jsp pages in my IDE to find these exact types of
problems. We ran into this same situation when we went from Oracle 8i to
9ias. Granted you don't have to use the precompiled code on the server but
it is great for catching problems like this.

Subject: Vector needs include in Tomcat?

Hi

Im trying to move my jsp pages from an Oracle 8i server (with apache and
JServ (Think this is what comes in the default installation?) ) to an
Tomcat server (4.1.27).
Tomcat wants me to include the Vector class, but Oracle didn't, how
come? I can understand why I have to do this, but why didn't I have to
before? Is there a way to include this on all of my pages (I use it
quite alot) from any conf file in tomcat
