Harry Metske commented on JSPWIKI-344:
--------------------------------------
I think we should keep the documentation on the web, let's use doc.jspwiki.org
for that.
Having the information there makes it better accessible for everybody, if we
only have it in the standard docs shipped with JSPWiki as Andrew mentioned it
will not be easy to grab for non-developers, you first have to download the
stuff, unpack it and find out where it is.
Having it on a public wiki also makes it better searchable (Google indexed
probably), and last but not least much easier to maintain, updates are
available to everyone instantly (old versions are automatically kept in
previous versions of the pages).
I'd like to suggest we keep one single file in the in the distribution that
links to the doc.jspwiki.org documentation (not a copy of the documentation,
too much (dumb) work to keep it in sync)
Also, I think we should start using a "2.8 alias" , it can for now redirect to
doc.jspwiki.org/[2.4|2.6] . If there will be a need in the future to separate
it, it can be easily accomplished by changing the redirect.
