UTF-8 not rendered in wiki page

Hi,

I had problems pasting in the copyright sign © in a wiki page, as an
example. The editor accepts and displays it fine, but when the page is
rendered, there are extra characters in front of the sign. I need to
display other not so usual symbols, even though I can do without ©. The
browser is set to UTF-8 encoding and I have

jspwiki.encoding =UTF-8.
