Thanks for the reponse Dirk. I am glad to hear that this sort of stuff
may eventually be ported into the JSPWiki core. I will let you know if I
have any success stealing your sectional editing functionality out of
the BrushedTemplate.

I've added a reply on jspwiki.org. Hope this is useful to you.

So far, the feature is only available in brushed-template.
In jspwiki v2.5.xx, the Brushed-Template was ported to jspwiki, and
most of the stuff is now part of the default template.

However, sectional-editing was not part of the port, yet...
We are considering to improve sectional-editing allowing multiple user
to edit sections in parallel. And this needs some more time..
