No worries, Doug already answered--it's safe to leave those "long" 
variables as 32-bit even in 64-bit.  (By his coding practice, if the 
precise size had mattered he would have used a typedef instead a native 
C type.)  So the Word_t typedef is the only one I need to worry about 
functioning differently in Windows.
