OTOH many other people would prefer to wait a bit until certain design decisions are hammered out in a satisfactory way. Stable & mature software usually happens after spending a lot of time using and developing unstable & immature software.
Incompatibilities are a pain, of course, but most packages do a fine job updating relatively quickly, and Compat.jl is a really nice solution -- you may find it useful.
