This is itendra Shah. (nominated 'Secreatry' of the OSGEO India.
Frank knows me though others in the ist may or may not know me.
I am proposing to move around a few colleges around here and get some
faculty and students to undertake some projects.
I am looking for such developed ideas and have been talking about openjump
etc .
Recently IBM has helped me conduct three workshops in three places on
java+eclipse+Websphere etc .
I will be in touch with a lot of teachers ( young faculty hom I expect to be
able to initiate into some projects o OpenSource , PROVIDED they get some
recognition.
It would be my effort to provide that thru OSGEO India

So the idea of proposal , (say wthin a framework of using eclipse as java
development platform ) (which can even get support from IBM Academic
Initiative and thus get some more attention ) of development of JAVA
program for OSGEO can be good idea.

I can put some efforts in that. I expect to get some good response.

However, I don't know any students enrolled in programming courses that
would be interested in this.

If I prepare one or two of the proposals I
mentioned will we be able to find interested students to participate?
