I kind of agree with Ede to close the bug, if we have a proper message returned and OJ does not hang. Loading that specific type of tiff or png data is rather a feature request. However, for me important too is what Jukka found: That next time we can suggest to the user to explore & transform with gdal into a different (LZW-free?) format. I actually had problems with lzw tiffs and the old image loader earlier too (= years ago).
