Hi,
I like Michaël's new improvements on move vertex tool, after addin Add
vertex (double click) and Delete vertex (shift+double click) it becomes a
true "modify geometry" tool. I wonder if we could add this new tool on
left-click context menu, and leave original JUMP vertex tools on editing
toolbar.
Some extra ideas:
- before moving that new "super" vertex tool we should seriously talk about
left-click context menu: I think we can move a large set of tools to a
submenu (like a "tools" submenu) and leave only the most intuitive and
useful one (copy, paste, but also combine, explode. On submenu should go
tools like move along the angle, view/edit geometry, edit side, vertices in
fence, but this decision should follow the opinion of other developers)
- On the other hand, I would like zoom tools (on left-click context menu)
not to ne on context menu: I asked these tools some month ago as Ubuntu
keyboard shortcuts conflict with OJ one (and Kosmo one too), especially
ctrl+alt. A solution is to de-activate Ubuntu shortcuts but this is not
practical for newby of computers to do it. In my lastr short courses I has
few students using Ubuntu and I had to say, as a first lesson: "now, before
learning how to digit on OJ (or Kosmo), first of all, only for Linux user,
we learn how to deactivate Linux shortcuts, etc, ect".
- @ Michaël. I am thing alternative solutions to make your new superplugin
more efficient. I wonder if it is possible to add a shortcut even to "Add
vertex option" (like ctrl+double click). The activation of shortcut keys
should also change how cursor tools look like, so user know if they are
moving/adding or deleting vertex.
thanks
Peppe
