Hi Ede,

After some time spent to investigate the question, I prefer to postpon
this improvement or even to abandon it in favor of feature request #245.

DefaultCellEditor uses JTextField, JComboBox or JCheckBox. JTextField is
just a single line editor.

To handle multilines, we need something like a JTextArea, as
demonstrated in http://esus.com/embedding-a-jtextarea-in-a-jtable-cell/

It is not too complex, and I made a quick try, but after that, we have
to manage row height as explained in
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/21723025/how-to-set-the-rowheight-dynamically-in-a-jtable

All in all, it is much more than just an option to switch on, and I'm
not sure that JTable is the right place to handle multiline attributes.
Maybe the solution is in a nice form editor as requested in #245.

What's your opinion ?

Michaël

PS : seems that shp/dbf preserves newlines
