The location of the legend(s) have been assumed to be in the lower-left
corner of the new chart layer. Depending on the positions of features
then there can be some overlap - as you have observed. It is not so easy
to identify a suitable place for the legend(s) so that is clear of all
features without a lot of hard work. I have taken the view that the
lower-left corner is as good as any assumption. Remember that you can
always manually move the legends in the Chart layer using the normal
editing tools. You can also try to make the space by zoom/panning the
current window to keep the lower-left corner free of features before
launching the JumpChart plugin.

When the JumpChart plugin is launched it needs to know which layer is
currently selected, and the data from that layer (attributes and values)
is extracted to assist in preparing the chart. As it is currently
implemented, the plugin must be re-launched to account for the fact that
the user may have selected a different layer after creating a chart. For
the moment I do not see it worthwhile to rewrite the plugin to ensure
that such a possibility might take place.

Yes, I know I do not follow Microsoft Standards - but I am not convinced
that they are always the best. You can call this "Geoff doing his own
thing". You could, of course, make the changes for you own use by
changing the sources.
