I use the Quantum GIS too. In this software the save is very simple: 0. add a layer 1. "Toggle editing" ON 2. change anything 3. When "Toggle editing" OFF the qgis ask me that "Do you want save the changes?" I don't know -and as simple user I don't care- that qgis how save the layer. In Jump the "Save Dataset as" why ask me the server/database/table/user/passwd again? Before editing I set these datas. When I cange anything I don't want to make new table, I don't overwrite the whole table (with about 50000 rows) across the network... so I don't need "as", I'd like a simple "Save Dataset".
