Hallo,

I am Tommaso and I have a question about the OpenJump Plugins on Ubuntu:
In which directory should I put the Plugin files .jar?
The installer didn't create the directory /openjump/lib/ext, but only openjump/ext.
I looked in the startup file and in fact the line PLUGINDIR point to
/openjump/lib/ext.
So I put the PIROL plugins there but it don't work...
I already installed JDK and JAI.

Regards,
Tommaso

Hi Tommaso,
I use Ubuntu and OpenJUMP for several years, so I could probaly help you. But first tell me from where you downloaded OpenJUMP, which version and how did you installed it. If it is an old version of OpenJUMP 1.0.x which is available from some third-party Ubuntu repositories as .deb package, I would recommend to use one of the "official" builds instead. Use either the 1.2D version available as openjump-1-2-D.zip file from the jump-pilot SourceForge page http://sourceforge.net/projects/jump-pilot/ , or the weekly build from http://www.redefinedhorizons.com/oj_weekly_build/ (newest available version, not thoroughly tested). Instructions how to install the zip files on Linux are on http://openjump.org/wiki/show/Getting+Started (I'm currently improving the Linux section of the page). I never tried any .deb package, because when I started using OJ, it was not available and I was always satisfied with the official downloads. Even the nightly or weekly builds worked almost always very well.
