Hei,

I believe Paul is in holidays. So we may need to wait until he is back.

I was about to test WMS with basic authentication, but the newest nightly build is four days old, from 8th of May.

Hei Ravi,

I (hopefully) finsihed the plugin/function today.
However, the stuff/task is non trivial from my perspective. So It works only for polygon layers now. It could be also used for LineString Layers, but I disabled it as the Planar Graph Function has similar functionality. Merging mixed Geometry layers is quite difficult. For instance right now I don't have an idea how to do that properly for Lines and Polygons - although this may be a useful function.

The function is located under Tools/Analysis/Intersect Polygon Layers

You may wonder why I did not call it "union" as in ArcGIS. The reason is simply that the topological operations used are intersections. And I think we should try to avoid using wrong (but probably older ESRI) terminology.

Can you test if it does what it is supposed to? At least it worked for me with the testdata you sent.

cheers,
stefan

PS: I won't do this "customization" work often.. but as you asked for a long time... ;)

Next thing to do is to transfer some of the Pirol plugins (creating
Grids) and Layer Attribute Statistics, that are not contained anymore in the PirolJUMP (wonder why)

Hi,
for mineral prognastication, tried to have result A shape
(attribute
CODE) + Bshape (Attribute Number) = Polygons with
attributes (Code and
Number) from both layers, only populated If they intersect.
Example:
1.For the resultant polygon pieces, Code=1, Number=200 when they intersect 2.For the resultant polygon pieces, Code=1,
Number=0 or NA
when they donot intersect.

Method:
1. A and B layers are selected and Replicated to a NewLayer with right click menu.
2. NewLayer is polygonised and renamed as AB (it has no attributes)

TRANSFER OF ATTRIBUTES
3. Tools --> Edit Attributes --> Transfer Attributes
    Layer A= AB
Layer B= A Realation= Contains

Un-Expected Result: Though the smaller polygons of AB are
contained by
A polygon layer only a few are transfered.

Had this worked then with these steps, the UNION as desired
could be
achieved, by repeating a few steps.
