GigE PICs support 1023 active VLANs (1023 units) per PIC. Also note
that there is a limit of 3000 units total for the whole M7i chassis.
If you need significantly more than 3000 units (subinterfaces) you
should probably be looking at an aggregation platform like the ERX.

The builtin GigE port on the M7i isn't quite as capable as a standard
PE-1GE-SFP PIC. For one thing, it doesn't support "encapsulation
flexible-ethernet-services".
