Forums are not a popularity contest. The requirement of being liked to have one's question answered or a problem trouble shooted defeats the purpose of a forum.
Members with similar questions or problems will click on a thread. If they see the question or problem was not addressed, they won't repost the thread. If they read criticism, they may be afraid to post a thread themselves. Before posting threads, I searched this forum to ascertain whether others posted a thread on the same topic. I also read other topics. Other members were bullied for giving constructive criticism or saying their preferences. For example, the thread by a person who preferred an older release of K-9 didn't like the new gmail appearance. One member kindly recommended making the older releases available. Didn't look like that happened. Not taking up members' recommendations discourages members from further recommendations. -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the K-9 Mail Users List.
