Today in Science/Astronomy:

* New Telescope Camera Targets Fast-Spinning Hearts of Distant Galaxies
http://www.space.com/businesstechnology/technology/ultracam_020814.html

Astronomy is not usually described as "fast paced." Photographing the
depths of the universe is usually a business of very long exposures
lasting hours or even days.

* New Wallpapers

New Images from Space Artist Bret Little

* New Pictures Reveal 100,000 Galaxies
http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/eso_images_020813.html

Billed by astronomers as a "joyride to infinity," a photograph of a
relatively small patch of sky in the Southern Hemisphere peers through a
galaxy to reveal more than 100,000 distant galaxies.

* Walt Disney Helped Wernher von Braun Sell Americans on Space
http://www.space.com/news/spacehistory/vonbraun_disney_020813.html

Wernher von Braun, the German physicist who oversaw most of the
achievements of the U.S. space program until his death in 1977, might
not have been as successful if it weren't for Walt Disney.

-----------------------------------

Today in SpaceFlight:

* Lance Bass Faces Space Trip Deadline
http://www.space.com/missionlaunches/bass_update_020814.html

Lance Bass' space voyage was at risk Tuesday while Hollywood dealmakers
and Russian bureaucrats squabbled over payment for the pop idol's $20
million trip.

* NASA's Twin Voyagers Mark 25 Years And Counting In Space
http://www.space.com/missionlaunches/voyager_25_020814.html

A quarter-century after setting out on missions that were to have lasted
just four years, NASA's twin Voyager spacecraft have yet to end their
travels.

* More Crawler Cracks Found but Schedule Remains Unaffected
http://www.space.com/missionlaunches/fl_crawler_020814.html

Inspectors have found more cracked bearings in the massive crawlers that
carry shuttles to the launch pads, and there could be further
discoveries before NASA and contractor United Space Alliance figure out
what repairs are needed.

* Report: China To Launch Fourth Unmanned Space Capsule This Year
http://www.space.com/missionlaunches/china_update_020813.html

China will launch its fourth unmanned space capsule this year, taking
the country closer to sending a human into orbit, state television said
Tuesday.

* Injury Prompts Replacement of Shuttle Endeavour's Next Pilot
http://www.space.com/missionlaunches/sts113_pilot_020813.html

Due to an undisclosed injury, shuttle pilot Gus Loria has been replaced
by Paul Lockhart for the early-November launch of shuttle Endeavour on
the STS-113 mission, NASA officials said Tuesday.
