While about 15 percent of U.S. schoolchildren are Latino, only about 3 percent of the PTA membership is Latino. The first office will handle all issues related to safe schools and substance abuse prevention. The innovation and improvement office is charged in part with investing in promising practices and communicating the effectiveness of those practices.
