I know the scheduler has always been finicky. You might want to try using a cftry/cfcatch block in your template. Have it send an email to you in the cfcatch block. Then, if the file runs and fails mid-way through you will hopefully be notified. You could add a cfmail tag to the body of the email also to have it notify you that it ran.
