I'd like vote for a Flash Remoting speaker. We're using remoting with a
few of our clients, but one of them wants to use SOAP to talk to the web
services, and not use CFC's at all. Cheaper than buying CF licenses for
every install, but the benchmark tests (from a few months ago) online are
throwing huge wrenches into the process, stating that the "XML SOAP way" has
major memory leaks and problems. Some things Macromedia fixed, but the
complex structures and arrays being passed using SOAP is still proving to be
a real pain the arse.

Anyone else run into this sort of stuff or have a sparked interest?

CF is finding someone local who is knowledgeable in the area, and willing to
talk...I think you may just be the only one. Maybe holding a tutorial for
45 minutes and then opening it up for experimentation and suggestions from
others would help you. A working meeting of sorts.

model...

with Flash 5 experience with some user interaction for text boxes and such,
sent to the server via posts/gets. He is now playing with true RIAs via
Flash 2004 Pro & the screens features with tie in to CF. Another is working
on PHP integration with flash remoting/amf.
