>>> Does anyone know the scoop on why the CF User Forums are still down - what's the
>>> future hold for that?

The Forums were down for a few days 2 weeks ago due to some server issues. I was told
that they were 'preventive' in nature. Essentially, the Forums are fairly heavily
used and also have rather high bandwidth and server needs. I believe they moved the
databases over to new servers and tweaked settings. I assume that they are having
problems again and are working on it.

Only the web based version of the forums is down
(http://www.macromedia.com/support/forums/). You can still access the forums and
presumably the archives via a news reader. Long before Forums type software there was
Usenet News (30,000+ newsgroups exist), think of it like a big forum in text format.
In many cases it is actually faster/easier to use a news reader.

I prefer XNews for a news reader. http://xnews.newsguy.com/ The 'test' version is
stable for me and its a free app you can also get from download.com
