Is it possible for you to install SLES9 SP2 and check if the modular kdb there works? Is there anything special about the hardware I should know? When you first mentioned kprobes it worried me, I suspect that both kdb and kprobes are registering on the die chain, and I never had the opportunity to work with multiple registering. However if you say it didnt help to disable that then it must be something else. My access to hardware is diminished at the moment, but I will attempt a fresh build/test here to see what happens.
