--- Comment #5 from pallaswept <[email protected]> --- I've just noticed something interesting - for reasons originally unrelated to this issue, a few days back I disabled the polkit agent helper socket-acivated service, which is a default in polkit 127. It just occurred to me that there might be an effect, and sure enough, after doing this, it seems I cannot reproduce this fault any more. I re-enabled the service and the problem was back, disabled it and it was gone... I do know that systemd service sandboxes get different limits than normal, so that might explain the "too many open files" message, but I'm really not sure why this is broken. But it looks like it's coming soon to a distro near you. Suse does have polkit 127, as does arch, fedora's on 126 until f44, everyone else after that.
