            Bug ID: 516327
Summary: Windowfocus on wayland is broken when using context
                    menus
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: kwin
      Version First 6.6.0
       Reported In:
          Platform: Arch Linux
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: minor
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

With plasma-xorg the focus behaviour is as expected: I have a smaller windows
in front of a larger window, I can can f.e. mark some text in the lower, larger
window, rightclick and copy the text and paste it into the foreground window.

With plasma-plasma, same situation, I mark the text in the lower window,
rightclick, but as soon as I click on copy (or paste), that lower windows rises
and covers the forgroud window. Really annoying behaviour.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. As described in the summary. Choose a proper focus model, rightclick in a
lower window and select a menu item.

OBSERVED RESULT
The lower window rises, as soon as a context menu item is being selected, while
it should not

EXPECTED RESULT
The lower window stays in the background, as configured - and respected by
xorg.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

(available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a terminal window)
Linux/KDE Plasma: Linux rumpelhost 6.18.9-arch1-2 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Mon,
09 Feb 2026 17:16:33 +0000 x86_64 GNU/Linux / KDE 6.6.0

-- kinfo does not work, due to some missing module.

KDE Plasma Version: plasma-desktop 6.6.0-1

KDE Frameworks Version: ?

Qt Version: qt6-base 6.10.2-1

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This is btw. no regression, it dates back to at least 6.4, probably longer,
I've just been running x. As wayland, with this behaviour, is not usable for
me. But the time with xorg seems to be running out, hence...

Just to reemphasise: The window does not raise, when the context menu itself is
being opend, but as soon as an item within that menu is being activated.
Though both behaviours of course would be a pita
