Bug ID: 520408
Summary: On-canvas selection tool popup shown in all windows
instead of the active one
Classification: Applications
Product: krita
Version First 5.3.1.1
Reported In:
Platform: Appimage
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: Tools/Selection
Assignee: [email protected]

Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
When using a selection tool, there is a selection tool popup on the canvas
containing common selection operations. While this is useful, it's showing on
all windows with the same view instead of the active one. This is very annoying
if you're using a multi-monitor setup where you are painting on a pen-enabled
screen and using the other to get an overview, as the popup will obscure the
exact area you are working in.
Current workaround is to move the popup on the non-active window as it seems to
remember the position, but this applies any modifications you've made, forcing
you to redo everything.
This is reproducible on a single monitor by opening multiple windows with the
same view.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Krita and create or open a file
2. Window->New Window
3. (in the new window) Window->New View->[your opened file]
4. Use one of the selection tools, e.g. Freehand Selection Tool, and select
something
5. Observe popup appearing in both views
OBSERVED RESULT
Selection tool popup appears in all views related to the affected file.
EXPECTED RESULT
Selection tool popup should only appear in the view where the user is using the
selection tool.
