Bug ID: 520963
Summary: "Share" menus for very specific platforms appear
without instruction from the user
Classification: I don't know
Product: kde
Version First unspecified
Reported In:
Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
I do not use Telegram or Nextcloud or Imgur (or Bluetooth) yet "Share" menus in
various parts of plasma include integrations with those services with no clear
way of fully hiding or disabling those likely-unhelpful options.
It is especially problematic for Plasma to semi-indirectly promote Telegram, it
being a highly ethically questionable centralized platform ran by a broligarch.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open e.g. Dolphin
2. Right click any file
3. Hover on "Share"
OBSERVED RESULT
Several overly specific and potentially redundant options with no apparent
customization opportunities can be observed.
EXPECTED RESULT
For the share options to be customizable and not include subjective online
platform choices by default.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System (available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a
terminal window): Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 6.6.91
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.26.0
Qt Version: 6.11.1
