            Bug ID: 521072
Summary: Feature request: Digikam doesn't show "Color labels"
                    from Acdsee.
    Classification: Applications
           Product: digikam
      Version First 9.0.0
       Reported In:
          Platform: Other
                OS: Other
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Tags-Colors

  Target Milestone: ---

DESCRIPTION
In Digikam it is possible to change the name of a "color label" in the gui but
in the background when writing the label to the xmp section of the image file
or reading the label from the xmp section of the image file the original name
of the "color label" is still being used.

For example: I can change the name of the color label "red" to "car" but when i
mark an image with the color label "car" in digikam and write the metadata to
the image file what is actually written to the field label of the xmp section
is "red" and not "car".

In Acdsee in that case the field label of the xmp section gets the value "car"
and not "red".

That means that when I change the name of the color label red in Acdsee to car
and write that information to the xmp section digikam will not show the color
label red/car because it expects that the field label in the xmp section has
the value red and not car.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Rename a color label in Acdsee, mark an image with that color label and write
the metadata to the xmp section of the image file.
Read that file in digikam and in digikam it seems as if that image has no color
label.

OBSERVED RESULT
In digikam the image has no color label

EXPECTED RESULT
that the image has in digikam the same color label as in Acdsee.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Win 11
digikam version 9.0.0
Acdsee ultimateversion 2026

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This could be solved by using the same strategy as XnView MP.
In XnView MP it is possible to specify for every color label multiple keyword
which when being read in the field label are assumed as that color label and
you can specify one keyword which is the value that is written to the field
label in the image file.
