Bug ID: 521566
Summary: M as a custom shortcut doesn't work anymore
Classification: Applications
Product: krita
Version First 6.0.2.1
Reported In:
Platform: CachyOS
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: Shortcuts and Canvas Input Settings
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
I can assign 'm' as a shortcut to a tool (in my case freehand selection) in the
gui shortcut editor just fine - but in practice 'm' isn't working as a
shortcut. When I run krita from the terminal I get the message
> "QAction::event: Ambiguous shortcut overload: M"
when trying to use the shortcut.
Just in case this matters here, I am using a QWERTY keyboard and the layout
"German(no dead keys)".
When I assign an already existing shortcut to the free select tool instead a
warning pops up that the key is already used - this does not happen with m.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. <optional> open Krita from the terminal to actually see the message
2. Open settings, assign 'm' to "Freehand selection Tool"
3. Try to use the shortcut on the canvas
OBSERVED RESULT
If opened from the terminal you will now see "QAction::event: Ambiguous
shortcut overload: M", no tool change happened (for example from the brush tool
if that's currently selected)
EXPECTED RESULT
A switch to the free select tool
