Bug ID: 522593
Summary: Magic Lamp and Squash don't know where to animate to
if app hasn't been shown in the task manager widget
yet
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First 6.7.1
Reported In:
Platform: CachyOS
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: minor
Priority: NOR
Component: Task Manager and Icons-Only Task Manager widgets
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
Target Milestone: 1.0
DESCRIPTION
see summary and steps to reproduce.
I wasn't sure if I should report this under kwin or plasmashell since from what
I (not a dev) can tell, this likely involves both kwin and plasmashell because
there's animations and plasmashell widgets involved.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set the animation for minimizing to Magic Lamp or Squash in System Settings
2. Set your Task Manager widget to only show minimized apps
3. Open a new app
4. Minimize it
OBSERVED RESULT
The animation doesn't play correctly, either targeting the cursor position and
then correcting itself midway through in the case of Magic Lamp, or not playing
at all for Squash. After this, if the window is minimized again, the animations
both play correctly.
EXPECTED RESULT
Animations play without issue.
