            Bug ID: 522811
Summary: Icons-Only Task Manager: Add option to restrict "Hide
other windows when hovering over previews" to the
                    current monitor only
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: plasmashell
      Version First master
       Reported In:
          Platform: EndeavourOS
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
Component: Task Manager and Icons-Only Task Manager widgets
          Assignee: [email protected]

  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY
The Icons-Only Task Manager includes a highly useful option: "Hide other
windows when hovering over previews" (which isolates the specific window the
user is peeking at). However, in multi-monitor setups, this currently hides all
windows across all screens, which can break workflow continuity on secondary
displays.

I would like to suggest adding a sub-option to restrict this effect to the
current monitor only.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE (Current Behavior)
1. Set up a multi-monitor system.
2. Enable "Hide other windows when hovering over previews" in the Icons-Only
Task Manager settings.
3. Hover over an application preview on Monitor 1.

OBSERVED RESULT
All windows on Monitor 1 AND Monitor 2 are hidden, leaving only the hovered
window visible on Monitor 1.

EXPECTED RESULT / PROPOSED FEATURE
An option or checkbox under the setting, such as:
[x] Only hide windows on the active monitor

When enabled, hovering over a preview on Monitor 1 would temporarily hide other
windows on Monitor 1, but leave the active workspace/windows on Monitor 2
entirely untouched and visible.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
With the recent introduction of independent workspace switching for different
monitors in KDE Plasma, the desktop environment treats screens with much
greater autonomy. Restricting the "peek" window hiding to the active monitor
aligns perfectly with this design philosophy and prevents unnecessary visual
disruption on secondary displays where a user might be monitoring
documentation, data, or video.
