I found out that proton-cachyos 11.0-20260601 enabled automatic HDR via imports from winewayland.drv imported from Proton-EM, so wine wayland is baked into the proton version. These Fromsoft games appear to be incompatible with wine wayland, as the wayland launch variable causes the games not to launch.
