Apologies for the delayed response. I just tested with version "kdenlive-release_26.04-12970-windows-gcc-x86_64.exe". Before installing, I created a new project on the version I previously had installed to make sure that my testing conditions were the same between both versions. I didn't make any changes to the blank project other than turning on record controls for audio channel 1, making sure that my mic was plugged in. I saved, then re-opened kdenlive. I clicked new project on the splash screen so that I could see the main UI load first. I unplugged the mic, then opened the test project and got the crash I was expecting. Then I installed the new version mentioned above. With the mic still unplugged, I again open kdenlive, clicked new project on the splash screen to see the main UI load, then opened the test project and observed no crash. Channel one had the recording controls active and an empty VU meter. Clicking the record button shows a message in the status bar that says "no audio" and is highlighted red. It looks like the text might be longer and cut off on the right side but it is hard to tell. More importantly it still did not crash. Next I closed kdenlive once more and reopened it, this time with the mic already plugged in before opening. In the main UI I opened the project and again observed no crash. Opening directly from the splash screen with no mic plugged in works as well. I did encounter one strange issue though that seems to be related. Here are the steps to reproduce: 1. Make sure mic is plugged in 2. Open kdenlive and select test project from splash screen 3. Create a new project 4. Unplug mic 5. Open test project from recent projects list. The record controls are visible with a partially filled VU meter that appears "stuck" 6. Click the record button on channel one. The button begins to animate as if it were recording, but no clip appears in the timeline. 7. Click the record button again to "cancel" the recording. At this point blank white window appears with the title "Transcode clip - Kdenlive". Kdenlive stops responding and clicking anywhere causes Windows to add the classic white tint to the Window and eventually prompt to either close the program or wait for it to start responding. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
