Problem occurs some time (I did not measure it - but I expect some random factor) after the TV is turned off. As I noticed, there is not an udev event informing system about a TV HDMI input change. I can see a little CPU peak from plasmashell at the same time. But then CPU usage gets immediately back to "zero", except the time polling after one second. For a time longer than a time selected for monitor dimming (3minutes) or switching off (10minutes) in KDE power settings. Actually it is not only the TV. My RPi5 is connected to the game HDMI input of my Denon receiver (with power states changes driven by TV). This is due to Bravia has only two high speed VRR UHD 120Hz HDMI2.1 ports. One is connected to PS5, and the second one is eARC HDMI connected to this receiver. So those UDEV events are probably related to this receiver too, and I can see some occasional UDEV events (same as above) even if TV and receiver are both switched off. Just one minute after Your response I did following steps: - I switched the TV on - I did remote login to the server via ssh and I started plasmashell again - I started udevadm -d monitor as a root in the remote ssh session - I changed the TV input source to HDMI4 (eARC with receiver with RPi5 connected into the faster game port supporting VRR and other HDMI2.1 features) - I started next ssh session in which htop is running - I switched TV input to DVB-T2 TV -> No changes in CPU usage or in UDEV events logging. - One minute after I turned the TV off (Receiver has been turned to sleep mode automatically by the TV at the same time) - Few minutes after the receiver sent some UDEV events followed by small CPU usage plasmashell peek (normal activity - Denon receiver checks for firmware updates) - I am waiting for changes. And until now. And everything is still in normal with zero CPU consumption. But I can bet that (at the latest) few hours after the behavior will be different. Because of it always is. With the change that it is not about 15% CPU usage, but it will be 80-90% now (after last system updates). And the same will show htop kwin_wayland. Maybe... Is it really related to video? Could it be a sound event? Sound output is via HDMI too. But, I don't know, what type of a sound notification it could be. Akonadi is running, but it is not configured yet (except the calendar DAV events - enabled even in digital clock calendar - but kdav has been broken in the last release, and the synchronization does not work - Bug 525262 ).
