MadHakker <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[email protected] --- Comment #2 from MadHakker <[email protected]> --- I can reproduce this on a newer version than the original report. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Distro: Arch Linux Haruna: 1.8.1-2 Qt: qt6-base 6.12.0-2, qt6-declarative 6.12.0-1 plasma-integration: 6.7.5-3 KDE Plasma Version: <fill in> KDE Frameworks Version: <fill in> Graphics platform: Wayland (also reproduced on xcb, see below) STEPS TO REPRODUCE (same as the original report) 1. Global Menu widget on a Plasma panel. 2. In Haruna, "Show menubar" unchecked. 3. With Haruna closed, open a video from outside Haruna (clicking the file in Dolphin). RESULT Haruna crashes on startup. Opening the file while Haruna is already running works fine, as does starting Haruna with no file and adding the file afterwards. CONFIRMED WORKAROUND Checking "Show menubar" in Haruna makes the crash go away. Videos open normally from Dolphin on a cold start. ADDITIONAL OBSERVATIONS - 26 crashes are recorded in my coredump log over about 5 weeks, with many different files (mp4 and mkv, various sources and codecs). In all of them the crashing main thread is inside libQt6LabsPlatform.so.6. The video file doesn't matter. - The crashing thread's stack goes QQmlIncubator -> QQmlInstantiator::_q_createdItem -> a QML bound signal expression -> QV4::QObjectMethod call -> libQt6LabsPlatform.so.6. So it looks like a QML handler on an Instantiator-created item calls into a Qt Labs Platform object during startup. - Right before the crash, stderr prints these two warnings: qrc:/qt/qml/org/kde/haruna/qml/Menus/Global/GlobalViewMenu.qml:23:5: QML MenuItem: Window.window only supports types derived from Item qrc:/qt/qml/org/kde/haruna/qml/Menus/Global/GlobalViewMenu.qml:36:5: QML MenuItem: Window.window only supports types derived from Item - It is not Wayland-specific: QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb gives the same crash. - It is not the KDE platform theme: running with QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME= (empty) gives the same crash. - The mpv/ffmpeg threads in the trace are just decoding normally, so this isn't a codec or GPU issue. My guess, not verified: with the menubar hidden, the global menu items get created and touched by a QML handler (triggered when the file loads on startup) before the platform menu objects are in a valid state. That would explain why it only happens on a cold start with a file argument, and not when Haruna is already running. The system lacks debug symbols, so the Qt frames show as n/a. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
