# SUMMARY
KDE Connect's macOS desktop build could connect to my Android phone,
but notifications did not appear. macOS notification permissions and
desktop banners were already enabled.
I had previously installed the Mac App Store version of KDE Connect.
A stale notification registration associated with the shared bundle
identifier appears to prevent the desktop build from delivering
notifications.
# OBSERVED BEHAVIOR
Both phone notifications and a diagnostic notification submitted directly
through org.kde.kdeconnect.daemon.sendSimpleNotification failed to appear.
macOS usernoted logged:
Legacy client org.kde.kdeconnect connecting to modern client.
You can't mix modern clients with legacy clients.

The daemon was connected to the phone, the notification plugin was loaded,
and it held received notification records.
# EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
Notifications should work when enabled. A registration conflict should
either be handled or produce an actionable error.
# VERIFIED WORKAROUND
1. Open System Settings → Notifications.
2. Right-click KDE Connect → Reset Notifications.
3. Restart KDE Connect.
4. Allow notifications again.
After this, usernoted logged successful banner presentation. A diagnostic
notification, a ping from the phone, and a fresh Gmail notification from
the phone all appeared successfully.

# NOTES
The App Store installation is historical information, not a freshly
reproduced installation sequence. The registration conflict and its
resolution were directly observed. Investigation was assisted by Codex.
