I gave that a shot, but it didn't seem to fix the issue.

I've actually had a bit of a play around and the problem definitely seems to be
linked to the toolbox, because if I get rid of it completely the problem no
longer occurs. If I bring back the toolbox the screen stretches down (which can
still be reset like I described before).

Although If I do increase the width of both the toolbox AND the toolbar on the
right then the amount that the window is stretched downwards is mitigated but
not completely nullified. From my testing it seems to be that the thickness of
the side toolbars are directly proportionate to how far the screen is
'stretched' downwards.

Well, for the most part I've managed to work around it so it's not a big issue.
I'm aware it has a lot to do with the new Qt5 framework that isn't easily
fixed.
