BTW I tried digikam 7.0 beta 2, no change. For the sake of it I had a look with exifprobe, that starts to output some maker notes, then segfaults. exiftool runs through fine, but I have to admit I am not sure if the maker notes are output. The man pages of exiftool mention that: "A common problem with some image editors is that offsets in the maker notes are not adjusted properly when the file is modified.
