Done that, and that is what made it crash.
I also tried running it again, hoping that it would find the missing packages
but no.

And more important, please read the second message I wrote.
I reinstalled. That is I burned a USB stick, installed from scratch, and
selected format destination partition, and ended up with broken installation.
Only thing I saw was a prompt asking for password.

This is NOT a local issue this is definitely a package management issue
