            Bug ID: 444028
Summary: When starting digikam it hangs for a very long time
                    checking ICC repository
           Product: digikam
           Version: 7.3.0
          Platform: Microsoft Windows
                OS: Microsoft Windows
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: major
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Metadata-Maintenance
          Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
          Reporter: gingerle...@yahoo.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Last week I altered some of the settings in the Metadata configuration and
looked at the EXIF tool as I had previously used Exif tool GUI to correct the
lens metadata on some of my older lenses. Since installing 7.3 the alteration
to Exif lens data made with EXif tool GUI don't seem to work and I was trying
to sort the problem. Up until this point I had no problem with digiKam (other
than a few very minor niggles)
2. Every time I have attempted to start digikam thereafter it has seemed to
halt every time and takes hours to load and then is incredibly slow and
difficult to use.
3.I've tried migrating the database to Maria dB server, which after a few
attempts seems to have worked. I've uninstalled digikam and Maria several times
and then reinstalled always with the same result. I've tried to re-install
version 7.2.0 after having used Revo uninstaller to clean up after the
uninstall and I've even used 2 different registry cleaners but the installer
will not let me re-install 7.2.
I'd be quite happy to do a clean re-install and start my catalogue again but
that doesn't seem to work either.

OBSERVED RESULT
Digikam takes several hours to load and doesn't work as it used to

EXPECTED RESULT
Digikam to take 1 or 2 minutes to load

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:10 pro 64bit

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I have about 100000 photos in my catalogue but it worked OK until recently
