SUMMARY
***
During installation on most distributions, I get the choice to chose my
keyboard. The generic solution which works fine on standard keyboards is
"generic 105-key PC keyboard". However, after the first login, this choice is
not honored and the default keyboard in systemsettings changed to "generic
86-key PC keyboard".
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE / OBSERVED RESULT
1. Install a distribution with KDE/Plasma, such as openSUSE Tumbleweed.
2. Make sure the keyboard is set to "generic 105-key PC keyboard" during the
installation which should already be the default.
3. After installation and a reboot, open systemsettings and the input devices
section to validate your choice, the entry changed to "generic 86-key PC
keyboard".

EXPECTED RESULT

The user's choice should be honored, in this case it should be set to "generic
105-key PC keyboard"
