   I tried several times.

   In the end I removed the album from the collection and restarted
   digikam and added the folder again. That prompted a complete rescan,
   which is now running.

   I will do as you suggested, if it happens again.

   The scanner for new elements works very reliably, if new ones are
   available

   they would be added. Check whether the rights of the folders and files
   are

   readable for digiKam. Otherwise we need a DebugView log.
