Hi folks,

for testing I have just tried to install MacPorts’ port kdesdk4 (which includes
dolphin) and it worked like a charm, except a minor issue which turned out to
be not a dolphin-one [1].

All dependent ports got installed w/o problems on Mac OS X 10.9.2 within just a
very few minutes (due to binary versions of most ports required):
---
$ sudo port install kdesdk4
--->  Computing dependencies for kdesdk4
---> Dependencies to be installed: cervisia dolphin-plugins kde4-baseapps
nepomuk-widgets kapptemplate kcachegrind4 kde-dev-scripts kde-dev-utils
kdesdk-kioslaves kdesdk-strigi-analyzers kdesdk-thumbnailers kompare
libkomparediff2 lokalize okteta poxml antlr umbrello
---
where only cervisia and antlr needed to be built from sources (certainly due to
some license issues). :-)

I haven’t done any further testing so far - except the tiny dolphin-issue, but
I’d say this is an example for great interoperatibility of the KDE framework
and its apps.

Greets,
Marko
