Howdy folks,
We have https://cgit.kde.org/ffmpegthumbs.git, which is not very actively 
developed.

There is also this upstream project 
https://github.com/dirkvdb/ffmpegthumbnailer which appears to be more actively 
developed.

It seems kind of wasteful to have two projects that do exactly the same thing, 
each with few resources and low levels of interest. What do folks think about 
approaching the maintainer of the project on GitHub and asking if they want to 
merge with ours? Or should we abandon ours and tell distros to package his 
instead? Or are there good reasons to keep ours separate that I'm not aware of?
