Maybe a coincidence, but I had my 1st kernel panic for about 8 or 9 years this morning. Can't get a stack or anything meaningful. Not a coincidence. With the hal service running, I hear a little clunk every 10 seconds or so as it tries to access the floppy drive (I'm a bit old-fashioned). I've disabled hal for now. A+ Paul
