Since we're in the middle of the last -RC before 4.3, pushing larger or weird 
patches to the 4.3 branch is difficult. I've been doing several, though, and 
updating the specs with commit revision #s. Committing to trunk *is* easily 
possible, but will only have effect in 4.4 (I have not been forward-porting to 
trunk with most patches, still need to do that).
