Hi Alan,
Welcome back.

At this point, you still need a full Dude checkout; the KDE/4.1.0 parts will
download the release source tarballs. In *principle* it is enough to:
1) Get that Dude checkout
2) Get CBE (it will install into /opt/dtbld) 1.7.0 prerelease
2a) pkgrm CBEcmake
2b) Install Dude/CBE/cmake.spec, but set _prefix to /opt/dtbld
3) cd Dude/KDE/4.1.0
3a) . /opt/dtbld/bin/env.sh
3b) make build-deps-all build-all

One of the things I really want is a KDEhier package (just to create and own
some directories, like we have FOSShier) and a KDEintegration package that
does the dtlogin stuff.

Looks reasonable. The files I have are:
config/C/Xresources.d/Xresources.kde
config/Xsession.kde
config/Xinitrc.kde
also note that the config/*/Xresources.d files may need to be done in each
locale, so if you have an en_US.UTF-8 machine the files may be slightly
different (they are on my laptop, for instance).
