Ok, I spoke with Stefan last night, and will do this. He also said there are defines that need to be in the 4.1 startkde as there was for the 3.4.3 stuff. I have most of it setup, btu the config files are still pulling the 3.4.3, which is not in the environment, I don't think... > One of the things I really want is a KDEhier package (just to create and own > some directories, like we have FOSShier) and a KDEintegration package that > does the dtlogin stuff. > >> Xinitrc.kde, is this correct at the bottom? It starts on Xinitrc.kde, and then moved into the Xsessions.kde and Xsessions2.kde, afaict. It seems to be the values in Xinitrc that cause the menu to shop on dtlogin, and I have that figured out. The part I was stuck on was why it's still trying to execute the 3.4.3 from the 4.1 startup, I have gone over that stuff, but my guess is that something in my envirionment or in my home dir resources that are causing it to look there. The KDE environment vairables that Stefan mentioned could very well be it. > config/C/Xresources.d/Xresources.kde > config/Xsession.kde > config/Xinitrc.kde > > also note that the config/*/Xresources.d files may need to be done in each > locale, so if you have an en_US.UTF-8 machine the files may be slightly > different (they are on my laptop, for instance). I do have a UTF-8 system, and I think if I replace the about "C" locale for en_US.UTF-8, that is what is needed...looked at that, but couldn't figure that out the other night.
