It doesn't meet my needs. Installing and upgrading my main Qt/KDE with 
portupgrade without having to specify alternate prefixes is too 
convenient for me to give up.

Yup, that option is in there. I have to run out this evening, but I'll 
give it a shot this weekend and see if it works.
