FWIW, I just tried myself and I had no trouble compiling kdelibs, with the 
visibility feature enabled, with gcc40 from ports - you should probably 
just stick to that for now.

After all, gcc41 is not a finished product and there's no official release.

As soon as there is, KDE *will* be tested against and made compliant with it - 
which will in all probability happen much earlier than the next 
system-compiler update in FreeBSD-CURRENT. Also, the next scheduled KDE 
release is KDE 3.4.3, not KDE 3.5.
